Chapter 07

Lilly surrendered, praying silently for her name to be a winner. Anna, who were standing beside her looked agitated and nervous. Jennifer was seen occasionally waving at the audience, like she was throwing her nerves away.

One of the judges climbed onto the stage and handed a white envelope to the host.

"Before I announce the name of the winner, let's see what kind of design she made for Rainbow's next Autumn collection... !?" said the Host as he opened the envelope.

Classh... the stage screens are lit up, beautiful melodies flow along with the design drawings that come out one by one in the form of slides

"Wow gorgeous…"

"The designs are cute... I like that"

"Who designed it? Very beautiful!"

The audience and the judges applauded when they saw the design. Lots of audience wondered who the designer was.

The three finalists stared in disbelief towards the stage monitor screen, they smiled happily. Especially Lilly, her eyes are teary.

"Beautiful design and elegant, cute and cheerful ...! Very much in line with the character of the designer... "The Host took a step ahead of the finalists. “The winner... At the same time the owner of this design is.....................”

Tek... The stage lights are off... Everyone present is silent, waiting anxiously...

"Congratulations to Miss Jennifer McQueen..."

"Ly... Lilly...! Helloooww... Lilly on earth... !!"

"Huh?" Lilly's reverie broke off instantly, there was pain and tightness in her chest. "I'm sorry, I..."

"Sorry!" Emma stared sympathetically as she wiped away Lilly's rolling tears without her noticing. “I did not mean to make you sad...”

"Hhmmm ..." Lilly shook her head. "Don’t be, I just got carried away... "

"Good morning everyone..." Jennifer walked into the classroom with so classy makeup followed by 2 of her friends.

"Good morning, my Queen…" a male student approached her.

"You're so beautiful as always..."

"Jenny, congratulations on your debut as a model..."

"Congratulations Jenny, you made it..."

Jennifer walked toward her desk proudly, she saw Lilly and Emma was chatting with occasional laugh. Lilly and Emma didn’t return her greetings. She’s not happy with it. She wants Lilly to suffer caused of losing the competition.

"Lilly, will you congratulate me?" Jennifer stood in front of Lilly. On her face was a triumphant smile and a taunt to Lilly. "You'll never be more than me..." Jennifer whispered in her heart.

When Lilly looked at Jennifer she seemed to be pulled back, to the moment the competition was over, Lilly confronted Jennifer, asking for an explanation for what happened, why her design was claimed to be Jennifer's. Instead of pleading guilty and apologizing, Jennifer turned and threatened to report Lilly on the defamation charge because Lilly accused her of stealing Lilly's work without proof. Yes, Lilly did not have any proof. Even the CCTV footage doesn’t show the figure of Jennifer who went into her dressing room at the time. Only an unknown woman who wear denim cap, came out of the room empty-handed. The management assumes that the woman is a part-time worker who is on duty checking the readiness of each finalist.

Jennifer chuckled, “Do you still can’t accept defeat?”

“Of course not, winning or losing is common in a competition…" Lilly put a simple smile. “I'm looking forward to your future designs...”

Jennifer's face turn pale as Lilly said that, she wondered if Rainbow's management would ask her to make another design for the next season's collection. If that happens, then she will be caught. She tried to remember the contents of the contract that she signed, is there any agreement for advanced design?

“If I were you, I would not expect much!” Emma chuckled with a grin.

“What do you guys say? Of course the upcoming design will be as good as the previous one, even better…” Wendy, one of Jennifer's followers spoke up.

“I hope so…”

"Are you mocking me?" Jenny's voice rose, the other students staring at them.

"Me?" Lilly straightened up. “I'm not mocking you. The design you handed over to the judges was beautiful, people loved it. Why do you feel humiliated?? Moreover, Wendy said your next design will be even better. What is wrong if I hope so?”

"Of course people will feel humiliated...!” Emma walked past Jennifer. "Especially if the design is not the result of their work. Is not it!?”

"You ...!" Jennifer glared at Emma. " Don’t accuse carelessly. Do you have any proof!? "

“Why do I need proof? Did I just accuse you??” Emma smirked, “Eh! Do you feel the accused?”

Lilly got up from her seat and leaned over to Jennifer who had been visibly upset, she lowered her voice so that only Jennifer could hear it. “Aren’t you enough to prove it!?"

Lilly stepped away, leaving Jennifer and Emma behind. She was about to leave the classroom when she accidentally bumped into someone who had suddenly entered the classroom. A sturdy hand swiftly seized Lilly's body, keeping her from falling.

Are you okay?" A mild yet gentle voice came from the man who had caught her from falling.

"I am fine. Sorry I did not see you in... " Lilly looked up, "Are you oo...kay?"

"Ppfftt... hahaha, what was that pause for?" The tall, handsome guy laughed. "Besides I have not entered yet, I was just about to enter. That's why we bump into each other, right? "

"Hahaha... nothing, I just didn't expect I was going to bump the handsome prince this morning..." Lilly chuckled. "How lucky..."

“Hehehe… Cheerful as always. That's what I like about you, Lil…”

"I…"

"Shin, you're here...!?"

Lilly does not finish the sentence, without turning Lilly already knew who was approaching them.

"Hi, Jennifer..." Shin Young waves to her.

"Excuse me..." Lilly walks past him. Shin Young was about to stop Lilly. But not so, though he wondered what Lilly would say just now.

“What business have you got here?" Jennifer showed off a super sweet smile. “Ooh! I know, you've changed your mind and want to accept my dinner invitation, right?

“Nope! I'm looking for Emma...” Shin Young replied as she looked around for Emma.

"Emma, look who it is standing at the door!"

Emma's eyes followed the direction her classmates pointed to. She sees Jennifer who is chatting with Shin Young in a sassy style.

"Hey Look! Kyou upload pictures of Prince and Jennifer who were chatting..." girl with glasses showed a photo.

“It was yesterday post…!”

"Prince declined dinner invitation from the Queen!!! Ouch!! =.= " Emma reads the caption of the photo.

"Do you know, Emma?" The dental girl sitting next to Emma whispered. "I hear rumors that Prince seems to like Lilly. That's why Jenny thinks of Lilly as a rival, and always wants to win from her!"

"Hahaha... where did the gossip come from?" Emma chuckled. “My cousin and my best friend? Wow… I wish it will be true…”

"So, is that gossip not true?" Asked the two-braed girl who had been listening only.

"Who knows…? Emma smiled full of mystery.

"Emma..." Shin Young approaches Emma and her friends.

"Yoo..." Emma said casually, "Are you done with the Queen?"

"Are you really a girl?" Shin Young ignores Emma's throb, he's surprised to see Emma's tomboyish behavior.

“What? Do you have a problem with that?” Emma responded with indifference.

"Do you have any plans for this summer vacation? If you don’t have any, come with me. You can take Lilly..." Shin Young offers.

"Thanks for your invitation, but Lilly and I have a plan ..."

"Oh ... where are you going?" Shin Young asked curiously.

"Sec-re-t ..." Emma said as she stuck out her tongue.

"What surprises will be waiting for Lilly on summer vacation?"
